Overview

A well-built network closet doesn't just look good — it lowers your MTTR when something breaks. Predictable patching, labeled uplinks, and rack layouts that respect airflow make the difference between a five-minute fix and a two-hour outage.

We build MDFs and IDFs from empty room to production: rack install, patch panels, cable management, switch mounting, PDU distribution, and clear documentation for every port.

Process

A repeatable process, from walk to handoff.

  1. Room review

    Space, power, HVAC, and pathways assessed for the build.

  2. Rack layout

    Elevation drawing showing every U of gear, cables, and PDUs.

  3. Install

    Rack, panels, managers, PDUs, and mounting rails set.

  4. Dress

    Patching, uplinks, and management cables run and secured.

  5. Label

    Every port, panel, and uplink labeled per one clear scheme.

  6. Document

    Elevations, port maps, and photos handed over.

Airflow discipline

Even a small closet benefits from blanking panels, cable pass-throughs on the correct side, and gear oriented front-to-back. It's cheap insurance against thermal shutdowns and premature hardware failure.

Patch panel philosophy

One clear scheme per site — room-based labeling, matching outlet and panel IDs, patch cables the right length. Skipping this at build time turns every future change into a scavenger hunt.
